Les Classiques classic car restoration sales advisory
FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK
The Ford Mustang is considered the All Time American Classic. From the moment it was unveiled in 1964, it became an instant hit. The first generation of Mustangs started as hardtops, but the car maker very quickly moved to making convertibles and fastbacks. While the car was an instant icon in the US, the movie “Bullit” starring Steve McQueen and the 1968 Mustang Fastback, brought it to the International arena.
This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback has been restored to its full glory. We upgraded the engine to a fuel-injected 428ci V-8 Engine, the contemporary Ford big block engine, with a 5 speed manual transmission. To cope with the engine we added Wilwood ventilated disc brakes on the four wheels. We removed all the chrome from the exterior of the car and painted all the parts black and went for a utilitarian look by putting on some “steely” wheels and put BF Goodrich Radial T/A tyres. We decided to keep the original design of the interior but we reupholstered all the leather trim with the finest leather. We added a wooden steering wheel instead of the original plastic/vinyl one of the era.
