ALFA ROMEO JUNIOR 1600 GT
The Alfa Romeo 105/115 series, as referred by enthusiasts, was first introduced in 1963 as the Sprint GT. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, this car had sleek lines that still look fire today. Produced until 1977, it sold around 91,964 units, with various engines in the Giulia GT family. In 1965 the GT Junior was reintroduced as a more affordable version and it gave young buyers the opportunity to get a sporty ride without breaking the bank. In the first production years it started out with a 1290 cc engine making about 89 hp and got several updates over the years. Today, it’s a classic, loved for its sporty vibes and legendary design that keeps it iconic.
Our Alfa Romeo is a 1969 GT Junior example that comes with some interesting, and respectful, modifications. It came with a 1,600cc engine and with double Weber carburetors making the car very quick and responsive for its age. There was a racing fuel cell installed in the trunk wheel well. To finish the mods, the front and back chrome fenders were deleted and OMP seats were added. This car was not intended to be a garage queen, and after giving it a test drive it is the epitome of “smiles for miles”.
